Girls’ artistic gymnastics

Upright, powerful and supple – an artistic gymnast is all of this and more. Artistic gymnastics is a fast-paced and impressive individual sport, where the best qualities of the body are developed in a versatile way. In addition, the sport teaches goal-orientation and enhances character.

There are four apparatus for girls’ artistic gymnastics: jumping, struts, boom and permanto floor. In addition to these actual apparatus, other equipment such as wall bars and a pit are used in training.

Groups

Gymnastics schools

The group is aimed at 5-7 year olds and 7-9 year olds who are beginning gymnastics. During the classes participants will practice basic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, and learn about the sport and apparatus. Gymnastics school groups are mixed groups.

Level 1-2 (Taso 1-2)

The Level 1-2 group in girls’ artistic gymnastics is suitable for those who have been training artistic gymnastics or other gymnastics for about 1 to 2 years. Gymnasts on this level practice basic gymnastics movements, such as rolls, cartwheels, supported handstands, and rotations. The federation’s bronze level descriptions give a good idea of ​​the movements practiced. Link to the bronze level.

Level 2-3

The girls’ artistic gymnastics Level 2-3 group is suitable for children and adolescents who have been training artistic gymnastics for about 2-3 years. Gymnasts participating in this group are expected to have completed level 1.2 or have the same skills. Exercises include: cartwheels in both directions, Arabic, handstands, fixed spins and swings. Level 3-4

The girls’ artistic gymnastics level 3-4 is suitable for children and adolescents who have been training artistic gymnastics for about 4 years or more. Gymnasts are expected to have achieved the level 2-3 or equivalent skills. Exercises include: Arabic, springs, handstands without support, kips, fixed spins and swings. Link to gold level.

Level 4

The girls’ artistic gymnastics Level 4 group is aimed at advanced girls who have experience on level 3 groups or even competitive gymnastics backgrounds. The group’s goal is to practice new movements purposefully, and those who are interested can also participate in the club’s in-house competitions or performance shows. Completing the federation’s emerald level gives you the opportunity to test your skills, even in official competitions. However, competing is not mandatory for group activities or advancement to the next level.

Platinum

The girls’ artistic gymnastics platinum group is for the longest training girls who have experience in Level 4 groups or even competitive backgrounds. The group’s goal is to practice new movements purposefully, and those who are interested can even participate in the club’s in-house competitions or performances. The platinum level is the club’s own level where the pastime can continue for a long time, always seeking new learning.

Clothing

The clothing for girls should be a t-shirt and shorts or a leotard. No slippers required. Jewellery and watches should be left at home and long hair tied back.

Insurance

All club members under the age of 19 are covered by Nordic Group Accident Insurance.
